Procure Instructional Materials in EMAT
Instructional materials previously adopted and newly approved by the State Board of Education (SBOE), as well as non-adopted or non-approved instructional materials, can be purchased with a district’s Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment (IMTA) using EMAT, the state’s online ordering system.Ìý
Before procuring materials through EMAT, local educational agencies (LEAs) must complete a set of required prerequisites:ÌýÌý

Complete the Certification of Provision of Instructional Materials (formerly known as the TEKS Certification Process).

Complete EMAT training.

Obtain EMAT Ordering Access by requesting the EMAT application in .

Select summer ship dates in EMAT (only applicable during summer).Ìý

Review and update contacts and addresses in EMAT.

Please note that the EMAT system closes for updates once per year, typically around April, and reopens in May for districts to place orders for the upcoming school year. It is highly recommended that LEAs complete the Certification of Provision of Instructional Materials during this time. Ìý

Ordering Accessible MaterialsÌý
Accessible formats of SBOE-adoptedÌýinstructional materials, including braille, large-print, and audio, are provided free-of-charge to eligible students. All accessible instructional materials can be ordered through the EMAT system.Ìý
