Performance-Based Monitoring
The Performance-Based Monitoring (PBM) staff in the Performance Reporting Division designs a comprehensive PBM system to improve student performance and program effectiveness. The PBM system is a data-driven system reliant on data submitted by districts. Confirming the accuracy of data is a critical part of the process necessary to validate and safeguard the integrity of the overall PBM system. PBM provides data processing and reports for annual program monitoring, risk analyses and data validation.
The PBM system includes annual data validation analyses that examine districts' leaver and dropout records, discipline data, and student assessment data. Additional data analyses, including random audits, are conducted as necessary to ensure the data submitted to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ are accurate and reliable.
Data Reporting Compliance Unit (DRCU)Â
The DRCU within TEA's Office of Information Technology Business Management Division works together with local education agencies to improve data submission and support multiple data-driven systems by examining the data submitted through the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) as well as PBM data validation indicators against required data submission standards for compliance.
